In-Home Integration with Hikvision

Hikvision has a wide range of smart devices, all controlled from one place, to ensure home security.

Multiple devices also have a variety of different control mechanisms, usually one for each device. For example, remember when you only had a TV remote control? Today you have four or so remote controls for your entertainment systems, such as your TV, sound system, DVD player, and satellite receiver. You might have five remote controls. This is the kind of "tipping point" where technological advances can lead to frustration rather than making life easier.

This has led to the proliferation of systems that integrate various elements of the house. These range from smart speakers that family members can use to play music in different rooms to apps that control lighting. There are also “digital assistants” that can integrate various IoT devices into your home.

Imagine being able to do this for your security. All alarms and security cameras can be accessed through a central indoor station. This information is also available in the app, so you can view alerts remotely. Add to this the ability to control your access points (like your front door); Instead of adding multiple "interfaces" to your daily life, you'll see how an integrated security system can provide greater peace of mind.

Hikvision's all-in-one indoor station provides homeowners with a central device to manage CCTV, access control, alarm and intercom technology. It has many features that allow users to monitor all these devices and get a complete picture of their home security.

In case an intruder raises an alarm, the system can provide video images from nearby cameras via smart connectivity. You can also control this with the pre-installed HikConnect app. It has the ability to zoom in and out of images and a fisheye mode for each camera.

The front door is often where the home begins. The all-in-one indoor station allows users to see who's at the door and even let them in by clicking a button at the bottom of the screen. This also works when using an app, so you can let someone in remotely after verifying their identity with the door intercom camera. Intercom systems can also be equipped with two-way intercom systems. This means users can chat with visitors at indoor stations or via the app.

The story for installers is also great. The fact that the device is Android (v10) based means that adaptations and 3rd party software can be easily integrated thanks to its open architecture. The user experience is constantly being improved and made intuitive for both users and installers. In this way, they do not need to install multiple devices to manage the in-home solution, saving them time and costs.

In addition to the HikConnect app, there is also Hik-ProConnect, an app that allows installers to manage and configure devices remotely. It also simplifies post-maintenance operations as various tasks can be performed remotely with the customer's approval.

As technology becomes increasingly prevalent in our lives, smart money is focusing on how to blend different technologies. Open platform architectures and platforms mean that more and more devices can communicate with each other. This is the beginning of the advanced world of IoT and we are truly realizing the benefits of smart, connected technology in our homes. You no longer need to look for the remote control behind the sofa.
